Re-Opening After Covid-19
While we all continue to navigate the uncertain territory that Covid-19 poses to the camp and retreat center industry, people looking for respite remains the same. As states and counties relax shelter-in-place guidance, people are searching for that place of respite. We have a wonderful opportunity to share with those looking to immerse themselves in beautiful outdoor spaces with spacious and comfortable group lodging.
While the language from county to county, and state to state varies, it is universally clear that our sites will be ready to accept guests soon. This has given these various governing bodies the time to formulate plans that UCCR and our Site Directors will be able to implement to better serve our guests, like:
health screenings
cleaning procedures
mask guidelines
meal service updates
A few points for our returning guests to be aware of:
If You Feel Ill, Please Stay Home
A health screening questionnaire will be required of our guests and staff upon arriving at our facilities. This will include questions about fever/temperature, exposures to Covid-19 positive individuals, and illness symptoms.Physical Distancing, Masks & Group size
Physical distancing practices will be in place in compliance with local and state health and safety guidance. This includes face masks when in close proximity to others, or maintaining 6-feet distance when appropriate. Group sizes may be limited to reduce exposure, and meal-times may be staggered.Meal Service Safety
During the initial stages of reopening, buffet meals will no longer be served. You can still expect the same quality, home-cooked meals you have come to expect from our sites, however, they will likely be plated by our staff to reduce the chance of exposure, or served family style to small tables.Sanitization
Restrooms and common areas will be sanitized by UCCR staff daily when guests are on site, and checklists will be posted to let our guests know when these areas were last disinfected.
We will be doing our best to follow guidances created by the state and county with regards to restaurants, camps, and hotel/lodging businesses. If you see a new practice while at our sites that you appreciate, please let our staff know.
If there is an area of concern for you, please let the staff or site director know so we can make the appropriate changes based on available information and guidance.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our sites.
Sincerely,
Evan Havstad
Director of Site Operations
