Fly Your Kite - Summer Camp At Community of the Great Commission
Our Summer Camp is just around the corner, and we would love to have your kid be a part of it!
Fly Your Kite offers sleepaway outdoor educational programs and summer camps that combine immersive education focused on developing important life skills (Creating, Fixing, Leading, Speaking, Adapting) with fun activities for youth (Ziplining, Archery, Adventure Wall Climbing, Boating, Mountain Biking, Forest Exploration, Swimming, Entomology, etc). Situated in picturesque Bay Area and Northern California venues, our camps provide peaceful, natural settings that promote connection with nature, staff, and peers.
We know it’s not easy sending your kids away to an overnight camp for a week, but here is a list of benefits that are hard to deny:
BOOSTS KIDS’ CONFIDENCE
It allows them to flex and build that self-confidence they’re going to need in life.
BUILDS RESILIENCE
They get to take chances and risks
BOOST THEIR SOCIAL SKILLS
They get that exposure to different kids and deal with people they like and people they don’t like.
THEY WILL SPEND TONS OF TIME IN NATURE
They will be completely immersed in nature and removed from screens, phones, and televisions.
A NEW KID COMES HOME
They’re happy, they laugh, they’ll be full of stories and songs.
To help continue the success of our summer camps, we have proudly partnered up with WOLF School (Web of Life Field). Together we are creating a unique and impactful program that will give our campers the benefits that were listed. We will help create these experiences with programs like:
Outdoor Science School: Field studies, Scientific experiments, Redwood ecology, Watersheds, Geology, Astronomy, Botany, Sola, and student journal to document all studies and take home
California History: Take a journey back in time to the mid 1800’sby re-enacting the life of Native Americans and learn their crafts like ethnobotany, Understanding the Gold Rush times and using gold mining tools, and Town-hall meeting role playing
Team Building Activities: Mental and Physical Challenges (ropes courses, etc.), Science and Natural History Lessons, Living and learning together as a community, Evening activities such as campfire songs and skits, Night/dusk walks, Town hall meetings, and Astronomy nights
REMINDER! Camp slots are filling up. Don’t let your kids miss out on our exciting new programs.
We look forward to sharing 8 days and 7 nights of fun and action together!
