Peacock, Eagles & Eagle Scouts
When Eric was hired to be the Site Director of Crystal Conference Center, he couldn’t have guessed that one of his duties would include herding a peacock. Yet that is exactly what Eric and Rich from the maintenance staff did this week. The beautiful peacock was enjoying his time wandering the the facility and managed to keep one step ahead of the humans who were carefully trying to corral him to return him to his owner.
Can you spot the peacock in the images?
We also noticed that a nesting pair of bald eagles have taken up residence on the hill past the dining hall. The pair built a huge nest in one of the beech trees. Recently a couple neighbors have seen a a few young heads peeking out over the nest brim. We figure that for 101 years Crystal Conference Center has been a very special place for groups to come together and enjoy time together, these eagles must know it is special enough to call I their home too.
See the nest in the trees?
Thank you to Eagle Scout and Crystal Conference Center guest Alex Moffitt for heading up a project to build two new platforms for our swimming area. The old platforms needed to be replaced and with a short conversation with Alex he took on the responsibility to build new platforms as his Eagle Scout project. They are completed and waiting to be delivered to this summer.
See Alex?
