Crystal Conference Center Partners With United Camps, Conference and Retreats

United Camps, Conferences and Retreats has announced that the non-profit has assumed marketing service for Crystal Conference Center, located on the shores of Crystal Lake in Frankfort, MI.

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Michigan Region selected United Camps, Conferences and Retreats (UCCR) of Petaluma, California to take on marketing of the camp and retreat center beginning in February 2018.

UCCR, a non-profit cooperative established in 1970, currently manages 13 sites in Northern and Southern California, Iowa, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, most of which are owned by religious organizations.

Crystal Conference Center, celebrating their 100 year anniversary in July, is well-appointed on the Crystal Lake waterfront. It has more than 2000 feet of sandy beach frontage, with buildings located amongst the sloping wooded hardwood trees and beautiful rustling spruces. The 128 acres is heavily forested with a trail through the property. Close by is the Michigan Conservancy hiking trail.

The camp currently accommodates up to 150 guests in a variety of lodges and cabins.

Tina Heck, Director of Communications & Reservations for UCCR, said, "We are excited about the opportunity to promote Crystal Conference Center and establish a new partnership with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Michigan. The Disciples are very involved in the site for their own use and want to share this beautiful place with other groups. There is passion in all the work the Disciples carry out at the site. UCCR looks forward to a productive partnership."

UCCR has expanded its management services beyond California in recent years to properties in Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Iowa. Crystal Conference Center is the first facility to partner with UCCR for marketing only. All sites managed by UCCR are open to non-profits, schools, religious groups, and organizations for retreats, camps, meetings, reunions, educational and community gatherings.

Neil Topliffe, Crystal Conference Center consultant, stated, "It can handle children, youth and adult groups for camps and retreats with swimming, campfires, climbing, hiking, cycling kayaking, on-site or within minutes of the Center. The setting is simply wondrous, overlooking Crystal Lake from almost everywhere on the grounds, amidst the rustling of the Birches and gentle lapping at the lakeshore. "

The close proximity to Lake Michigan beaches, nationally renowned Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, and the best of wine country and activities around nearby Traverse City are a few of the attractive aspects that makes promoting Crystal Conference Center an exciting part of UCCR’s marketing outreach in partnership with the Christian Church in Michigan.
