Dining & Meal Service

Homemade Meals

Homemade meals and a salad bar are available for all groups in the dining room of the Craigville Inn. We provide a full-service menu of homemade, delicious, and healthy meals served buffet style. The Dining Hall has heat and air conditioning, so it is always comfortable.

Please have a look at the sample menu below, or feel free to use this printable PDF.

Options for Preparing Your Own Meals

The cottages have kitchens, which allow groups to do their own cooking if preferred. During the summer, groups can also do their own cooking in the Manor.

Simple Wholesome Meals

We aim to have simple, wholesome meals that appeal to a broad audience. We will serve meals for individual dietary needs, allowing guests to customize. Protein and carbs will form the basis of the meal, with various sides, including a full salad bar or fruit and yogurt bar.

Special Dietary Needs

The menu is chosen considering each group's specific needs, including any dietary restrictions. All allergies and dietary needs are of the utmost importance to us, so we ask for this information in advance to allow for menu planning. Guests are welcome to contact us to discuss menu planning.

Orientation

At their first meal, each group will receive a detailed orientation to the dining room. We’ll explain the procedures for obtaining dietary alternative meals and answer any questions. This typically also serves as the main introduction for the group, including rules for housing and emergency procedures; it usually takes 5-10 minutes at most.

Dining Hall Availability

The dining room is generally unavailable to guests between meals, allowing staff time to clean and reset. However, a coffeemaker and other amenities are available in each meeting space for guests’ self-service between meals (plan to bring your preferred coffee grounds or tea). If a group is utilizing the dining room as a meeting space, some kitchen noise is unavoidable, but staff will do their best to keep quiet. Details of the meeting room must be arranged with Craigville Retreat Center in advance.

The sample menu below should give a good idea of the basics of each meal. There are always minor variations, and the entrees offered are examples. We do not guarantee a menu in advance; the menu is chosen with all guests in mind and provided in advance only in some cases.
