Recreation

In addition to the activities listed below, there is so much to see and do nearby. Many guests enjoy cross-country skiing or a leisurely day in local historic mining towns. Tahoe National Forest, the American River, and the Sugar Pine recreational area are all close, and CGC Camp is just 1.5 miles from OHV trails. Consider bringing a four-wheeler to go trailing! Access to the Western States Trail from Michigan Bluff (Last Chance section) is one mile from CGC. Please take a look at the trail map here.

Nature’s Playground

CGC Camp is known for its natural splendor and beautiful trees. Experience miles of hiking trails, walk the labyrinth and enjoy a low-ropes challenge course. When it snows, make a snowman or tromp through camp, making your own footpath.

  • Walking trails

  • Labyrinth

  • Snow play

  • We can facilitate your ropes course experience; contact the office and check out our challenge courses page for more information and helpful documents.

Pool & Pool House

A swimming pool with changing rooms and restroom facilities is available seasonally (June-September).

This is a large pool surrounded by tall trees, which offer shade from the sun during warm summer days. You can dip in the pool or curl up in a chair and read a book while listening to the sounds of nature.

Sports Activities

Sports activities available for guest use include volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, gaga pit, corn hole, and ping pong.
