Fun in Nature
Camp Lodestar is rich in varied ecological environments and steeped in the history of Mother Lode County. Towering yellow pine trees, sugar pines, cedars, and other conifers make a great setting for many recreational opportunities. Mountain Misery and a variety of wildflowers carpet the landscape, making for a beautiful view come springtime.
One of the many hiking trails crosses the meadow and passes a lava cap adorned with manzanita and chaparral shrubs, which descends to the Mokelomne River through a dense forest of fir trees and ferns.
A self-guided nature trail leads to a pond with an ancient apple orchard nearby. Our list of recreational opportunities and photo gallery are below.
