Expectations

This position has an impact on the overall effectiveness with which UCCR serves customers and members of the Craigville community. The person hired is expected to perform at the highest level of food safety, hospitality, and  customer service. The Lead Cook is an employee of UCCR and directly accountable to the Site Director.  

Strong cooking skills with ability to complete kitchen setup and menu execution alone.  Kitchen breakdown and dining room cleanup are important parts of this position.   


the position

  • Hot line meal prep, cooking, and baking.  

  • Kitchen, dining room set up and cleaning.   

  • Maintaining food costs, inventory, and food safety guidelines.  

  • Willingness to pitch in with retreat housekeeping and grounds keeping is a must. 

  • Training others to cook as well as you do.  


Pay | Hours 

  • Pay range is from $16-$18 or more depending on what you bring into the kitchen.   

  • This is a part-time year-around position that may convert to full-time.  

  • Workdays are spread across Monday through Sunday. Shifts (6-8 hours) are a combination of early morning and mid-day start times.

Requirements 

  • All new hires must pass a criminal background check.   

  • Food Safety certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days of being hired.  

  • All new hires must love making our guests happy through food.
