Camp Testimonials

Camp Tuolumne Trails

The site is beautiful and perfect for a variety of activities for all ages. The accessibility makes a world of difference for our special needs campers!

— Tina Heck, Family Camp

It was a great value.  Affordable enough for our non-profit, but with great quality - facility, food and staff! Wonderful facility. We loved the cabins. They worked perfectly for our group.

— Christy Rocca, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy

We love John, Cynthia and the staff. Very accommodating, very kind, very gracious and loving. The food was excellent, as always!

Westminster Retreat

Clean, comfortable, spacious.  Beautiful grounds, easy going (for strolling).  The beds are comfy.  Overall, a sanctuary that helped our group to relax and get down to business, but still feel very welcome and at ease. The food was excellent.  The smells alone were wonderful, but taste was great.  Delivered on time, as we requested.  Healthy, visually appealing.  Director was very good at helping us decide what food choices would work well for our group.

— Jennie McLoughlin, San Mateo County Office of Education

Westminster was lovely. Well kept and room to roam. Our organization was cared for very well. Melissa and staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. We will want to come back.

— Lori Polizotti, Center for Human Development

Loved the desserts! Food was great. Loved the all-day coffee, hot water, tea and cold drinks! Thank you for providing this!  Don’t take this benefit away!

— Amy Feng, Presbyterian Church in Chinatown

The staff is the best. It has always been but they had special decorations for our 25th year at the site - even a cake with candles! To honor the staff and site, we purchased 2 trees to plant on the property. The kitchen staff are wonderful - They seem like family to us.

— Lois Anderson, Trinity Lutheran Church Women's Group

We absolutely felt at home. The staff has done a wonderful job with Westminster. We’ve seen some wonderful improvements at the site since we’ve been there. Fair price for all that is provided and the atmosphere too!

— Marie Teuscher, Livermore Lab Employee Services Association

Little Basin

Trails at Little Basin give you a great look at the redwood forest and the plants found near Big Basin. From orchids to tan oaks to ferns and lichen, it is an area rich in plant variety that is fairly easy to access via the trails.

— Heather

Little Basin is a fantastic tucked-away jewel of a campground that is near enough to run out for a burger, but far enough to lose yourself in the redwoods.

— Chris Soriano

The place was clean.  If you keep it the way it is, i.e., Recreation room available, kids area,. sports courts maintained, that would be awesome!

— Manush

Very informative and friendly.  We appreciated that they came around to check on us periodically.

— Don Chiu

Valley of the Moon

Wow!  Four-star restaurant quality food.  Fresh, plentiful and tasty.  Everyone raved about the food, and we all appreciated the home-baked goods, especially the turtle bread, muffins, coffeecake and baked desserts. The facility was clean, and the setting beautiful.  Cabins were clean and comfortable.  Appreciated camp fires and hot chocolate at night.

— Merle Saber, StarVista

Food was great.  None of our boys ever left the dining hall hungry, and we have some BIG boys.

— Mike Johnson, Franklin High School Football

Thank you for hosting our recent retreat at Valley of the Moon.  Our committee appreciated how easy it was for all of us to work with you in planning the retreat and in person.  Many of our members believe it was the most successful retreat we’ve ever held.  We look forward to working with you again next year.

— Eileen Flanagan, Berkeley Community Chorus & Orchestra (BCCO)

Everyone praised the friendliness and responsiveness of all the staff. We definitely felt cared for. A wonderful contrast with the (non-UCCR) place we’ve been in the past 20 years. Thank you.

— John Bear, Bay Area Circle Dancers

— Roberta Weisner, Family Reunion

The facility provided a great environment for our groups of students to do both indoor and outdoor activities. Helgesson Hall and Carey Lodge were clean and provided all the resources that we needed.

— Julianna Prieto, Stanford School of Medicine, Genetics Department

Camp Cazadero

Clean, comfortable, beautiful. Good food. We loved the organic stuff. Burritos were good. So was the chicken. Nice assortment of veggies and fruit.

— Laurie Morgan, San Jose State University

Breakfast was awesome!  The salad bar was fabulous.

— La Clinica De La Raza

The Staff were helpful and available when needed - with a smile.

— Berkeley Chinese Baptist Church

Night hikes at Cazadero are enchanting. Teachers listen to the calling of spotted owls while the excited laughter of the kids floats across the meadow. The layout of the cabins around a meadow is a great focus for the WOLF School community while the incredible diversity of wildlife to be seen on the trails is ideal for teaching about the web of life. Newt migration time is the best!

— Heather Butler, Web of Life Field School

Camp Cazadero is a beautiful site. We’ve been running our program there for over 20 years -the pool, the meadow, and the cascade falls are all ideal for kids. Our program is built around Camp Caz!

— Kathy Bell, United Church of Christ, Kids Camp

— Angie Lee, Northern California Korean Catholic Youth Ministry
