Camp Tamarack

A camp in the high sierra mountains near Shaver Lake, Fresno County, California fornonprofit groups of 30-70.
Located at an elevation of 7,500 feet in the Sierra National Forest, Camp Tamarack is conveniently located between the Kaiser and Dinkey Lakes Wilderness Areas. Camp Tamarack, a rustic and beautiful site situated on Forest Service land, has a meadow and creek running beside camp. Near Shaver Lake, Camp Tamarack is 60 miles northeast of Fresno and is completely remote. Camp Tamarack is open in the summer only. There is no electricity. However, there is gas refrigeration, the centrally located restrooms have hot showers, and the lodge has solar lighting.

Lodging 
  • Tent Cabins - 10 tent cabins with 7-8 beds accommodates 30-70 persons.
  • Cabins - Two frame cabins with five beds each.
Dining 

Do Your Own Cooking - fully equipped, rustic kitchen in the lodge. Guests may use the indoor room in the lodge or outside covered picnic table area for dining.

Program space 
  • Irving Smith Memorial Lodge - Fireplace and solar lighting.
  • Covered outdoor dining area - with 12 picnic tables.
  • Covered lodge deck - with bench seating for groups of up to 70.
  • Outdoor Chapel/Amphitheater - with log and bench seating for groups of up to 70.
  • Campfire Circle - with log and bench seating for groups of up to 70.
Recreation 
  • Swimming and fishing in streams near camp
  • Shaver Lake is nearby (a twenty-minute drive) and offers swimming, boating and fishing
  • Ping-Pong tables, volleyball, and basketball
  • Miles of hiking trails
